AI Video Generation Speed and Success Rate

How long each of 8 video models on Seedance AI really takes, from pressing generate to a finished clip, and how often its jobs finish. Measured from our own job log over September 30 to October 29, 2026 (UTC days); last updated .

Measured on Seedance AI over more than 11,000 credit-billed jobs from September 30 to October 29, 2026 (UTC), the median AI video took between 46 s (SeeDance 1 Pro Fast) and 5 min 21 s (Wan 3.0) from pressing generate to a finished clip. Seedance 2.0 Mini, the most used model, took 2 min 24 s, with 9 in 10 jobs done within 3 min 41 s. Seedance 2.5 took 4 min 22 s, and 13 min 54 s at 1080p. 87.4% of all jobs finished; leaving out jobs refused by the content check or for inputs outside a model's limits, 99.4% did. Failed jobs cost no credits.

Speed and success rate by model

Fastest median first. The wait covers everything between pressing generate and the clip being saved to your library: the model provider’s queue, rendering and delivery. “Finished, excluding refusals” leaves out jobs refused by the content check or for a file or setting outside the model’s limits, so it shows how reliably the model itself delivers.

Each row is the model’s own mix of clip lengths and resolutions, so compare like with like in the two tables below. Not rated, with fewer than 30 jobs in the window: Kling 4.0, Kling O3, Kling 3.0 Motion Control, Kling 2.6 Motion Control, Veo 3.1 Fast, Veo 3.1 Pro, MiniMax H3.

Wait by resolution

Finished jobs only; a resolution needs 30 finished jobs to get a row.

Why jobs fail

Share of all jobs, most used model first. Of 11,139 jobs, 1,398 failed, and 79.4% of those were refused by the model provider’s content check. A failed job costs no credits.

“Outside the limits” is mostly reference videos that are too long, too low in resolution or above 60 fps, and images below the minimum size. The reference to video and video extender pages list the input limits.

How these figures are made

  • Source: Seedance AI’s own job log, not a benchmark. Every video job a signed-in user started from September 30 to October 29, 2026, counted in UTC days, that has finished or failed.
  • Left out: Premium unlimited-mode jobs and free guest trials, which wait in a queue by design, Seedance 2.5 draft previews, and jobs still rendering. What remains is the ordinary credit-billed run.
  • Wait: from the moment a job is submitted to the moment the finished clip is saved, for finished jobs. “9 in 10 done within” is the 90th percentile.
  • Failures are grouped by the error the job stopped with: the provider’s content check, a file or setting outside the model’s limits, or anything else (service errors, timeouts, an image that could not be fetched).
  • A model, resolution or length needs 30 jobs to be shown. The CSV holds every figure on this page.

AI video generation speed FAQ

How long does Seedance 2.5 take to generate a video?
A median of 4 min 22 s from submit to finished clip on Seedance AI, with 9 in 10 jobs done within 12 min 53 s (1,041 finished jobs, September 30 to October 29, 2026). By resolution: 480p 3 min 59 s, 720p 4 min 18 s, 1080p 13 min 54 s. By clip length: 1–5 s 3 min 22 s, 6–10 s 3 min 58 s, 11–15 s 4 min 20 s, 16–30 s 6 min 42 s.
What is the fastest AI video model?
On this site, by median wait: SeeDance 1 Pro Fast 46 s, Seedance 1.5 Pro 1 min 19 s, Kling 3.0 2 min 21 s, Seedance 2.0 Mini 2 min 24 s, Seedance 2.0 Fast 3 min 18 s, Seedance 2.5 4 min 22 s, Seedance 2.0 4 min 38 s, Wan 3.0 5 min 21 s. Each figure is the model's own mix of clip lengths and resolutions; the tables by resolution and by length compare like with like.
How long do Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.0 Mini take?
Seedance 2.0 Mini took a median of 2 min 24 s (9 in 10 within 3 min 41 s), mostly 4-second 480p clips. Seedance 2.0 took 4 min 38 s (9 in 10 within 10 min 29 s), mostly 5-second 720p clips.
Why do some AI video generations fail?
Of 11,139 jobs on the rated models, 1,398 failed: 1,110 were refused by the model provider's content check, 232 had a file or setting outside the model's limits (for example a reference video that is too long or too low in resolution), and 56 failed for other reasons such as a service error, a timeout or an image that could not be fetched.
Do failed generations cost credits?
No. Credits are held while a video renders and only taken when it finishes, so a job that fails or is refused by the content check costs nothing.
Why does a video take longer than the median?
Higher resolution and longer clips take longer: on Seedance 2.5 the median rose from 3 min 59 s at 480p to 13 min 54 s at 1080p. The wait also includes time in the model provider's queue, which varies, so on Seedance 2.5 the slowest 1 in 10 jobs took longer than 12 min 53 s against a median of 4 min 22 s. Free credits and Lite run 1 job at a time, Pro 4 in parallel and Premium 8.
How were these figures measured?
From the site's own job log: every video job that signed-in users started from September 30 to October 29, 2026 (UTC days) and that has finished or failed, timed from the moment it was submitted to the moment the finished clip was saved. Premium unlimited-mode jobs and free guest trials, which wait in a queue by design, and Seedance 2.5 draft previews are left out. A model or row needs 30 jobs to be shown.
Can I use this data?
Yes. The CSV download carries every figure on this page and is free to reuse with a link back to this page (CC BY 4.0). The measurement window is printed at the top; the figures are refreshed by rerunning the same query on a newer window.

Seedance AI is an independent platform and is not affiliated with ByteDance, Kuaishou, Alibaba or the other model providers named here. These are waits on this site; the same model can run at a different speed elsewhere.
